Bacteria that break down nutrients in a stable, permanent form begin to work and multiply immediately after contact with water. They remove the nutrients of algae – especially phosphates – from the water and thus fight effectively against unwanted algae in the aquarium, on the principle of food competition. Algae growth is suppressed and their population is reduced for a long time. Prophylaxis against algal blooms has been made.<\/p>\n
