Minerals have different functions in terrarium animals: first, they are an essential part of their diet and are necessary for the formation of healthy shells in turtles.
In lizards, they are important for healthy molting.
Secondly, they prevent mineral deficiency diseases that can occur with an unbalanced diet or when feeding older food.
Young animals require significantly more minerals than adults during the growth phase.

Calcium is the most important element among the minerals needed by terrarium animals for a healthy diet!
